Thank you to everyone who joined us in Hayburn Park yesterday for the official reopening after all the work that has been done in the park. Thanks to Martin Bartos our councillor for cutting the ribbon and to Lord Provost and neighbour Eva Bolander for joining us. Thanks also to Sandie Bishop and our buskers, including the Three Busketeers, for being the first performers in our new amphitheatre. Thanks also to all our neighbours for turning out to share our feast and remind us all how lucky we are to live in this great community. It was a special day.
When was the Park officially built
It was there in 1940 when I lived there
Before sometime it looks just like waste ground
I know the RAF used it as a Barrage balloon station as my Mum met my Dad there and then obviously married
It’s lovely to hear all park history. Would be great to meet you to chat and see any photos if you have any?
